The purpose of the St. Vincent de Paul Choir is to be of service to the greater community of gathered children who are worshipping together as the Body of Christ in our Eucharistic celebrations.
Collaboration is the primary performance concept to which we strive. Assisting children in “finding” their singing voice, confidently “honing” their skill at expressing themselves through the voice, and learning how to “hold one’s own” against competing voice parts (i.e. “part-singing”) are all worthy goals of this endeavor. Every effort is made to create songsters who are so able to listen to one another “en masse,” as to become capable of a unified blending of voices…what the Italians term “una voce” (i.e., “in one voice”).
